What I'll Be Wearing From New York Fashion Week's Fall '17 Collections

New York Fashion Week has just wrapped up and I'm currently planning and updating my Autumn '17 wardrobe. The trends for this season revolve around mannish suits, autumnal florals and preppy accessories, all of which are current faves of mine. Autumn is all about change and transitional pieces. And I love it. Here are the biggest trends straight from the NYFW Fall '17 Collections, and the pieces I'll be coveting in the months to come.

Wall Street Business Suits
Tailored blazers. Classic stripes. Checked suits. Designers such as Alexander Wang, J Crew, Tibi and Calvin Klein all gave business wear the nod, and a whole lot of effortless attitude, making them staples and must-have pieces for Autumn '17.

Fall Florals
Detailed floral prints. Rich decedent colour palettes. Designers featured florals on overcoats, jackets and outerwear and these pieces are all the trend on the Fall '17 runways of Coach, Public School, Altuzarra and Calvin Klein.

All The Frills
Bold, architectural ruffles are giving day dresses, tops, jumpers and tees an extra dose of femininity, and designers including Jason Wu, Adeam, Alice + Olivia and Zimmermann are all on-board.

The Everyday Midi
Wide-leg culottes are out (yassss!) and the everyday midi skirt is in (yassss!). Worn casually and effortlessly with turtle-neck knit jumpers and ankle boots (Victoria Beckham), athletic leisurewear and shearling overcoats (Coach), cute statement tees (Dion Lee) and cropped sweaters paired with boxy faux-fur jackets (Michael Kors). The ultimate everyday must have.

A Streak Of Silver
Dressing up is easy when you're swathed in liquid chrome silver. This gorgeous metallic colour is back on trend and looks amazing no matter how its worn. And nothing beats a pair of dark silver cigarette pants (from the runways of Proenza Schouler).

Neutral Territory
Tan, khaki, olive, bornze and camel made a comeback on the runways of  Michael Kors, Creatures of Comfort, Elizabeth and James, Marc Jacobs and 3.1 Phillip Lim amongst others. And these classic, understated colour palettes prove that subtle, neutral looks never go out of style and always look chic and glam. Love.

Bring it on, Autumn!

Love, Elle xo
