Valentino
Spring 2017 Collection
Paris Fashion Week

It's a new chapter at the House of Valentino, with creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli going solo. Inspired by the Renaissance Era, Piccioli featured his runway show at the Hotel Salomon de Rothschild and based this collection around a lot of medieval art, particularly Hieronymus Bosch's The Garden Of Earthly Delights. "I like to know my history, then forget about it," said Piccioli backstage. The collection was also a homage to 70's and 80's British fashion designer, Zandra Rhodes who was known for her hand-drawn prints and floaty, haute hippy dresses. The runway was a mix of handkerchief hems and delicately-printed embroidered dresses, and the models walked the catwalk with simple undone braids and glowy fresh makeup. I loved the mouth-watering elegance of this whole collection. So rich yet so fresh. Delightful.

Love, Elle xo
