Prada Spring 2017 Collection Milan Fashion Week

Spring 2017 Collection
Milan Fashion Week

This season Miuccia Prada was all about simple, minimalist designs geared towards the present-day woman. Backstage she said, "Instead of exploring the history of women, which I have done for a while, I decided to take care of now, the present, and trying to find today's elegance."

And that's exactly what occurred. Prada's Spring '17 Collection was stripped back to its most amazing innovative and recognisable best. The runway had hints of the minimalist 90's, with simple black tees paired with pencil skirts and relaxed sandals. There were also influences of the decadent 1920's with art-deco print shirts under lightweight knits and high-waisted bathing shorts. Very Betty Grable.

The accessories 'du jour' were the ostrich and marabou wraps, stoles and clutches worn by the models. These trimmings were also on the palest beige-colour lemony wrap skirts and dresses, and on the cuffs of Prada's chinoiserie pyjamas. Sublime!
