Drinking More Water Daily

10 Simple Tips

The one thing I encourage everyone to do is drink more water. I bring a 1.5 litre bottle of H2O with me everywhere and refill it a couple of times a day. I've learnt that whenever I feeling a little off throughout the day, it's usually due to dehydration. We all know that water has major health benefits. It improves digestion, your skin, headaches, allergies... the list is endless. Here are my tips on how I stay hydrated and the best way I keep up my daily 8 glasses of water.


1. It's the first thing I do in the morning. I drink 1 or 2 glasses of room temperature water before doing anything else. Try adding a squeeze of lemon for an alkalising, metabolism boost.

2. When I get up from my desk at desk, I always take a sip of water when I return. Too easy.

3. I use a straw. For me, drinking water with a straw is a lot more fun and effective. It works.

4. I've invested in a good water filter and water bottle. Drinking clean, purified water is the best way to go and I always enjoy having a full water filter nearby on my desk and at home to make it easier for me to reach for the good stuff.

5. I set reminders throughout the day. I downloaded an app that tracks my daily intake and reminds me to drink that H2O.

6. I infuse my water with added nutrients and minerals. Lemon-infused water tastes amazing. I also love cucumber and mint.

7. I drink sparkling mineral water. It's a fabulous alternative and healthier than alcohol.

8. I set a goal for each day and I always try to be strive for progress.

9. I often challenge myself and my friends to drink 1-2 litres of purified water for 10 days. It's a great way to support each other and monitor how good we feel.

10. Finally I eat lots of fruits and vegetables that contain large amounts of water, such as cucumber, celery, watermelon, radishes, lettuce, citrus fruits and capsicum.
