Christian Dior Spring 2016 Collection Paris Fashion Week

Christian Dior Spring 2016 Collection
Paris Fashion Week

Creative Director Raf Simons was inspired to keep his Spring 2016 Collection simple and quiet. "I was thinking about keeping things very soft, light and calm this year. Not overdone. I didn't want to embellish the runway. I was inspired by the south of France and the simple things. And I wanted to convey a sense of the Victorian era, and the book 'Picnic At Hanging Rock' with a slight sensual undertone of darkness."

The runway started with the nightdress, which is a re-occurring trend for next Spring. This was paired with scallop-edged handkerchief cotton dresses, little shorts, bodices with black tailoring. The iconic bar jacket was redesigned to skim the body and cinch in the waist like a corset. surrounded with lots of chiffon and organza in pale pastel lilac, pink and blue.

And the sensual dark overtones? Each model had an uber-straight low pony secured at the nape of the neck. And the models' necks were bound with tight scarves and ribbon chokers, each carrying a single jewel and a dangling metal tag. So perfect.
