The Elusive Model-Off-Duty Half Bun

Tips For Achieving The Elusive Model-Off-Duty Half Bun

Move over top-knot, the models of 2015 are giving you a run for your money. The 'Half-Up-Half-Down' version (once relegated to weddings and high school socials) has returned in a new way and is now the signature look of models and cool girls everywhere. It's kinda relaxed-looking, casual and super-popular with the celebs. It's ridiculously easy to do, and here's how to pull it off.

1. Create some beachy waves
The half-bun is perfect for day-old hair that has some texture to it. To add life to your roots (and ensure they won't look greasy by the end of the day) spritz them with dry shampoo. Then add a little sea-salt spray to the mid-lengths and curl with a curling wand.

2. Section your hair
Take all the hair from the hairline right above your ears, and brush it into a ponytail right at the crown. Wrap an elastic around your hair, making sure you have a nice high ponytail at the crown.

3. Twist and wrap
Next all you have to do is twist your ponytail around itself until it becomes rope-like.  Then start wrapping the tail around the elastic, until you have the style of bun you're looking for. Everyone's preferred style of bun is unique, and it's all about making one that works for you. Add a couple of pins to secure it into place, and tuck the ends under the elastic. Don't do too much else to it. A few fly-aways actually make it look really good. Just mist with a light-hold hairspray and you're done.

Love this look.
So easy.
So versatile.

Have an awesome weekend!
