Dry Skin Brushing... And why I love it.

Dry skin brushing is sooooo amazing. It's one of the best ways to exfoliate the skin, and also helps detoxify the body. And for me, it's an awesome way to relax the whole body before going to bed.

What are the benefits of dry brushing?
1. It helps rid the body of any dry, dead skin cells to rejuvenate the body and reveal new, improved, softer skin.
2. It improves the texture and pigmentation of the skin, and promotes cell renewal.
3. It improves circulation and eliminates cellulite.
4. It cleanses any toxins from the body and helps the muscles experience a deeper level of detoxification, which strengthens the immune system.

What kind of brush do you need?
You need to get a brush with natural bristles, not synthetic, with a long handle so you can get your back. Too easy.

What is the dry brushing process?
Personally, I love dry brushing before having a shower. I start at the feet, using even, upward strokes, always moving towards the heart, which helps circulation. And I also use circular motions on the back of the legs and thighs. I never go over any fragile, sensitive areas such as the neck, face or bruised spots. Over time, your skin will be able to tolerate more pressure, but it's always best to start with light strokes. I then take a shower, which further eliminates toxins and helps to increase your metabolic rate. And finally, I moisturise with a natural coconut oil that immediately absorbs into the skin, and helps new skin growth.
