The Five Steps To Radiant Skin

The Five Steps To Radiant Skin
We all know that I'm constantly on the quest for healthy, glowing skin. It's all about putting the building blocks together in the right sequence, and finding what's right for my skin-type. Here are the five things I regularly do to ensure that my skin stays radiant, hydrated and blemish-free. Let's go.

1. Get The Right Vitamins And Nutrients
Great skin always come from within. What happens on the inside manifests itself on the outside. So if you're eating lots of processed foods and not getting enough nutrients, the results will be a dull, puffy complexion. A healthy, balanced diet of fruits and vegetables means naturally radiant skin that consistently looks amazing. Fruits and vegetables contain huge amounts of antioxidants, which fight cellular damage to the skin caused by stress, pollution and sun damage. Vitamin C (which can be found in oranges, strawberries and broccoli) is your skin's BFF and helps the body produce collagen.

2. Wear Plenty Of Sunscreen
You know it. I know it. It's so important to protect the skin from the sun. Sun damage not only speeds up the ageing process, but also ensures that your skin stays tired, dull and lifeless. To keep that glow, it is crucial to get into the habit of wearing a sunscreen that protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays every single day.

3. Drink Lots Of Water
There's a reason why every single model and celebrity swears by drinking plenty of water... it's amazing for the skin AND IT WORKS. Water not only helps clear toxins from the skin that cause inflammation and blemishes, but also helps transport nutrients and oxygen to the skin cells. It's now recommended that we drink 9 glasses of water a day.

4. Exfoliate Regularly
Moisturising regularly is the key to keeping your skin supple and youthful, but a good moisturiser can't be effective unless the layers of dead skin cells are exfoliated away. Getting into the habit of exfoliating twice a week means new, brighter skin cells and a more radiant complexion.

5. Skin Resurfacing
For long term results laser skin resurfacing (in-salon) helps rejuvenate the skin and eliminate any pigmentation. This procedure is non-evasive and works by using light energy to stimulate collagen and resurface the top layer of skin. After 2 or 3 weeks, a more radiant and youthful complexion can be seen. It's definitely worth it.

Always check if laser resurfacing is suitable for your skin-type. Personally I love it, but it may not be for you.
