Layering Your Look

How To Layer Your Look
Layering is the perfect way to always look effortlessly put-together. It's all about looking casual yet chic, with that "I just threw this on" kind of feel to it. According to layering involves some basic mathematical skills to come up with the perfect equation. It's all about adding proportions with textures for a relaxed yet chic silhouette. Here are some awesome tips and tricks that make layering a breeze. Let's do the maths...

Crisp White Shirt + Lightweight Sweater
A white shirt paired with a crew neck sweater is the perfect foundation for a relaxed office look, with the cuffs slightly visible for some interest. Invest in lightweight cashmere knits that go well with skinny pants and pencil skirts. Add a cape coat or midi-length coat to streamline the whole look.

Cream Pencil Skirt + Soft Pink Knit + Navy Boyfriend Coat
Start with a neutral palette and add a shot of soft pink. A soft pink sweater is so flattering because it allows the skin to glow. It's one of those feel-good colours. Top it off with a knee-length boyfriend coat in a relaxed fit.

Dark Tights + Matching Heels
To lengthen the legs and keep the silhouette streamlined, dark tights and matching heels look just as sexy as knee-high boots, Go black with black (opaque) or navy with navy.

Boyfriend Shirt + Cropped Ribbed Knit
Rethink the crop top. A cream (or neutral colour) cropped knit looks amazing over a business shirt (untucked) of a similar colour. Tone on tone looks amazingly slimming and keeps the style simple and clean. Cream on cream. White on white. Blue on blue. Again, a midi-length coat tops the look off beautifully.

Layering is all about adding similar tones and changing the textures to obtain a long, lean, clean look. It's simple mathematics.
