Goodbye 2014

Shoot For The Moon, And Land Among The Stars...

2014 was a hard year for me. It was one of those years that required huge amounts of inner strength, lots of resiliency and a good dollop of determination. A lot of tears were shed in 2014. A lot of pain was felt. There were times when I thought that I wouldn't have the strength to carry on. Overall, it was a goddamn stressful year. So, how do you pick yourself up after being knocked down so many times? How do you turn the negatives into positives? How do you make 2015 a great year after so much hardship?

Here are some tips that always help me and may help you.
  1. Regularly set goals that focus on moving forward. Be specific. Include details. Take it step by step. And write it all down or it won't get done.
  2. Keep a daily journal. All those random ideas and thoughts can make a huge impact on your life, and writing them down often makes a big difference in your everyday world. A journal keeps track of your feelings and emotions on a daily basis.
  3. Invest in resources. Read self-help books. Go to seminars. Do your research. Talk to an expert, such as a business coach or a relationship expert. If you want results, you need to see things from another perspective. And don't be afraid to do so.
  4. Start a blog. A business or personal blog allows others to become more aware of your branding, ideas and concepts. And it's a great way to inspire and connect with others.
  5. Experts say it takes 21 days to develop a good habit. So, why not quit one bad habit every month. We all know that bad habits can stop us from reaching our fullest potential. So challenge yourself and write down 12 things you do that bug you (not going to the gym, sleeping in late, etc). Give yourself just 30 days and make it your goal to drop that habit.
  6. Meditate. I'm a big believer in meditation. It brings clarity of mind, increases productivity and helps with creativity. A quiet mind is a clear mind, and meditating helps you prepare for those long stressful days at work.
  7. Lose the fear of failure and never lower your standards. Always do and give your best in life, and know that you deserve nothing less than the best in return. Raise your expectations and have bigger dreams. And above all, consistently work and strive for what you know you deserve. Because when you shoot for the moon, you'll always land among the stars.
