~ How I Became A Morning Person ~ In my Uni days, I used to wake up at the last minute, pick my clothes off the floor, and grab an apple as I rushed out the door. It was total madness. So here are some little things that I do to help me become a morning person.
GET PSYCHED. For me, it's all about feeling good and confident about the day. If I'm dragging my feet and feeling stressed about the day's work, I tend to get behind on deadlines (which I hate) and can't seem to catch up. So I try to grab my confidence by the collar, plan how/what is happening throughout the day and remain optimistic no matter what.
BE PREPARED. I've learnt that the best way to be a morning person is preparation. So the night before, I get my outfit and lunch ready, and I do all those little 'jobs' that can easily be pushed aside.
GET INTO THE HABIT. Scientifically speaking, it takes 21 days to develop a habit. This is how I start anything new that has challenged me, and it I find that this system really works for me. At the moment, I'm working on a 21-Day Gratitude Journal at the moment and I am loving it.
WAKE UP MINDFULLY. Some mornings I naturally have that bounce, but other times I need to do that 'self talk' where I breathe in goodness, think beautiful thoughts, live in the moment and feel confident about the day.
EXERCISE. When I can I love going to a pilates class in the morning. Exercising in the morning makes me feel great all day, and gives me lots of energy. This is obviously a no-brainer.
DRINK A HUGE GLASS OF WATER. I always drink a couple of glasses of water at night before bed. It's great for cleansing the skin and body.
GET THE MUSIC PUMPIN'. I crank up the music in the car as I drive to work. Listening to my fave song just makes me so good about the day.
HAVE A HEALTHY BREAKFAST. I really prefer a super-healthy breakfast that maintains my energy levels, rather than eating sweet things throughout the day.
GET ENOUGH SLEEP. I am always banging on about getting enough sleep. It keeps my skin clear and my eyes bright. This girl loves her sleep!
